Care Kiro Development Ramps Up - PWA Done, Flutter Mobile App in Progress

Care Kiro is in full swing. As of January 30, it has 10 users. It's the work management SaaS for visiting nurses that I launched in beta in December.

01PWA web app

I built it as a PWA first. Nurses need to open it on their phones in the field, and I didn't want to waste time waiting on app store reviews, so I shipped the PWA first. Add it to your home screen and it works like an app.

I added offline support too. Visiting nurses don't always have internet on site.

02Landing page

I also made the care-kiro.com landing page. It's the page that nursing agency directors will look at, so I tried to make it feel trustworthy, but I don't have much of an eye for design, so I'm still not sure about it.

03Flutter app

A PWA only goes so far, so I started building a native app with Flutter. I considered React Native too, but decided Flutter would be faster for a solo developer. The big win is supporting iOS and Android at the same time.

Thing is, it's my first time using Flutter, so there's a learning curve. I got used to Dart's syntax quickly, but the widget tree structure still feels a bit awkward.

It's nothing as a number, but since this is B2B, what matters is one person actually using it every day. Right now it's mostly nurses I know, but the feedback from real use is helping me find the direction. I get specific stuff like "this button is in an awkward spot" or "please add this field to the log form."

Next goal: finish the Flutter app MVP and get it on the app stores.
