Finally launched Population Simulator!

💡 Background

Every time I see news about Korea's birth rate, it's just numbers and it doesn't hit you. I wanted to visually show just how serious 0.72 is by comparing it with other countries.

🛠️ What's In It

Country-by-country fertility rates shown by color on a 3D globe

Real-time ranking of 31 countries

Simulation of how populations change over 100 years

Risk classification: EXTREME (< 1.0), SEVERE (1.0-1.5), CRITICAL (1.5-2.1), STABLE (> 2.1)

Had to get into Three.js for the 3D globe, which was actually pretty fun. Though I'm a bit worried about performance on mobile.

📊 Shocking Data

Korea at 0.72, #1 in the world... #2 Hong Kong (0.77), #3 Singapore (0.85). Based on UN Population Data 2024 - I was honestly a bit shocked myself putting the data together.

💰 Revenue? No Idea

Honestly, I didn't build this to make money. I just wanted to make it. Could slap AdSense on it, but more than that, I just hope people see the data and feel something.
